The Red Light Jazz Dinner is the highlight of every edition of the Red Light Jazz Festival.
This exclusive event, held on the final day of the Netherlands’ premier jazz festival, will take place this year in the familiar setting of the Olof Chapel (Olof’s).
For the 2017 album Gravity, Reilly collaborated with British jazz saxophonist Dave O’Higgins and his band to breathe new life into, and modernize, the bossa and jazz roots of Matt Bianco. The relaxed swing of earlier successes, featuring Mark Reilly’s distinctive Dry Martini voice, was carefully preserved. The result was an energetic yet laid-back collection of ten original tracks, carrying enough ‘gravity’ to win over both the band’s most refined admirers and a host of new fans.
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed as VIPs and guided to their reserved seats at six-person tables. The head chef of the NH Collection Barbizon Palace Hotel — of which Olof’s is a part — has created a special three-course menu for the evening, complete with expertly paired wines.
During dinner, DJ Phil Horneman provides the signature Wicked Jazz Sounds, and after dessert, guests are treated to a live concert by Matt Bianco.
This legendary British group, named after a fictional 1960s superspy, is adored worldwide for hits such as Half A Minute, Get Out Of Your Lazy Bed, and Whose Side Are You On?
In 2016, Matt Bianco founder, frontman, singer, and songwriter Mark Reilly collaborated with the Dutch ensemble New Cool Collective. They recorded the album The Things You Love and performed together at Red Light Jazz and other Dutch festivals that year.
With so many great songs in their repertoire, Matt Bianco promises to turn Pentecost Sunday at Olof’s into an unforgettable celebration.
