Bout du Monde - Four Musical Heavyweights on a Journey of Discovery

- Joris Nederpelt Lazarom studied jazz piano at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. He has performed with both large and small ensembles in the Netherlands and abroad, and is a producer at his own studio: 12notes.nl.
- Rob IJsendijk began his bass career in pop music and soon found his way into the jazz world via the Berklee College of Music. IJsendijk has performed with countless musicians over the years.
- Drummer Aad Faasse graduated from the Conservatory of Hilversum, where he built a solid foundation for his musical career. Faasse developed his own distinctive drumming style with explosive flair and has collaborated with artists such as vocalist Deborah Brown.
Improvisation, Experience, and Adventure
The four musicians of Bout du Monde challenge each other anew with every concert, constantly exploring their musical boundaries. They know each other from various ensembles and have performed together in different combinations over the years. They were also regulars at previous editions of Red Light Jazz. Bout du Monde, however, is their very own project.
From ‘Hirondelle’ to ‘Uncovered’
The quartet’s first album, Hirondelle, was released in May 2020 and features mainly compositions by Steve Swallow. Their second album, Uncovered, followed in 2022.
