Jan van Duikeren – Trumpet with Soul and Story
Trumpeter Jan van Duikeren received not one, but two Edison Awards last year for his ballad album Short Stories. His follow-up release, A Love Unveiled, created in collaboration with vocalist Marcel Veenendaal and released in November 2024, also earned rave reviews and led to a completely sold-out tour.
Both albums feature standout performances from the bandmates Van Duikeren has played with for over a decade—including legendary 90-year-old drummer John Engels and piano virtuoso Karel Boehlee. For years, Van Duikeren has been recognized as one of the finest and most in-demand trumpet soloists in the Netherlands, with an equally impressive international résumé.
