Jazz & dining experience at Contra
Inspired by legendary jazz clubs such as the Blue Note in New York and Ronnie Scott’s in London, Contra is the place in Amsterdam where you can combine mesmerizing live music with a haute cuisine dining experience.
Een dinerticket wordt aangeboden in combinatie met een menu voor een vaste prijs, die later bekend wordt gemaakt. Er is ook een beperkt aantal tickets beschikbaar zonder diner.
Concert format and atmosphere
The concert lasts approximately 2 hours and consists of 3 or 4 short sets, with 15–20 minute breaks in between.
The breaks are meant for guests to enjoy each other’s company; during the sets, the focus is on listening to the music without disturbance. Dinner concerts are concerts first—staff may remind guests to be attentive to the musicians and fellow listeners.
ZaZoo: jazz, classical & electronic
ZaZoo is an ensemble formed in Amsterdam. Their music blends the improvisational qualities of jazz with the colors and interaction of classical music, enriched with grooves and textures from electronic music.
They feature a unique lineup: Elsa Le Moigne on cello, Willy Becuwe on trombone, Tejas Ziegler on keys, and Dane Paris on drums.
Flexibele rollen en prijzen
Elsa leads the ensemble and composes the music, while musical roles remain fluid: each musician shifts between soloist, bassist, accompanist, and ensemble player across different musical atmospheres.
ZaZoo won second prize at the Jazz in the Park Competition (RO) and was a finalist for the Jonge Makers Prijs (NL).
