Xavi Torres’ Barencia – Rhythm, Dance, and Southern Warmth
Barencia is named after an imaginary city halfway between Barcelona and Florence. Expect a magical fusion of traditions: music and dance, flamenco and jazz. The group was formed by Xavi Torres, a major talent from the Catalan jazz scene. A special role is played by Mexican dancer Karen Lugo, who blends flamenco with modern dance. Double bassist Michelangelo Scandroglio is a young talent from Italy, and drummer Bernardo Guerro from Florence regularly collaborates with Stefano Bollani.
Barencia on the Green Pilot Tour
Barencia is part of the Green Pilot Tour, a project by the Europe Jazz Network (EJN) co-funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe program. The tour promotes sustainability, fair pay, inclusion, and gender balance in concert touring.
