Lilian Vieira - Samba soul with class.
Since coming to the Netherlands at 23, Lilian Vieira has developed great improvisational skills and a charismatic stage personality. Her role in the well-known formation Zuco 103 certainly contributed to this. Lilian also worked with various jazz, soul and funk bands and DJs. In recent years, she has returned to her musical roots: singing popular Brazilian music and classical acoustic samba.
Samba Soul in all its glory
Samba Soul combines the influences of James Brown and Parliament/Funkadelic with the cool-tropicalia feel of the South American continent. The Netherlands’ biggest funk band, the Amsterdam Funk Orchestra, will play pieces by Gilberto Gil, Banda Black Rio and Seu Jorge, among others, in arrangements created especially for the band by Efraïm Trujillo at Olof’s.
