About Hans Dulfer
Wednesday, May 28, he celebrates his 85th birthday in style in pop temple Paradiso: Hans Dulfer, one of Holland’s most versatile musicians. With his illustrious and progressive formations such as De Perikels, Reflud and Big Boy, Hans became the most famous saxophonist in the Netherlands. He also played regularly with other artists such as Boy Edgar, John McLaughlin, Willem Breuker, Jan Akkerman and Herman Brood.
From stage beast to record hero: The success of Hans Dulfer
For years, Dulfer was primarily a stage performer, with recording and releasing records taking second place. When he finally took this seriously in the 1990s, widespread success in Holland and even star status in Japan followed.
Casa Rosso: back on familiar ground
Friday afternoon, June 6, Hans Dulfer and his band will open the Red Light Jazz Festival as usual at the world-famous Casa Rosso Theater. Red Light Jazz regulars know: if you want to see the still rousing saxophonist perform at Casa Rosso, arrive on time!
