Yvonne Weijers and her band perform smooth jazz and swinging Latin just the way you love to hear it. With her beautiful, clear voice, Yvonne knows how to move her audience. She effortlessly selects songs that suit her perfectly. Jazz standards, bossa nova, rumba and samba, blues, and ballads—it’s all part of her repertoire. She sings in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Dutch.

Yvonne and the musicians accompanying her on Sunday, June 7, have long-standing careers in music. They perform in clubs and have appeared at numerous festivals.
Jazz in Dutch
Her latest challenge is singing in Dutch. Yvonne performs music by Gershwin, Cole Porter, Madeleine Peyroux, and The Buena Vista Social Club in her native language. These world-famous songs have been translated for her by poet Marten Janse. On Sunday afternoon at Restaurant-Café In de Waag, Yvonne alternates authentic jazz and Latin with Dutch repertoire—a combination that brings surprise and enthusiasm to the audience.
