For the 13th edition of Red Light Jazz, we are proud to welcome Bitterzoet as a new festival venue, featuring none other than the sensational live band Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers.
From Rotterdam to a Unique Musical Universe
What began in a Caribbean restaurant in Rotterdam has grown into a rich and distinctive musical universe. Inspired by influences from Suriname, Curaçao, Morocco and India, musician, producer and multi-instrumentalist Arp Frique has developed a sound that is both warm and energetic. It is a vibrant blend of disco, funk and global rhythms, echoing the spirit of New York’s dance clubs while maintaining a colorful and unmistakably original signature.

In the studio, Arp Frique builds his music layer by layer. On stage, that work takes on a new dimension. Together with his “Family” — a collective of accomplished musicians from the Surinamese-Dutch-Cape Verdean scene — he creates a live performance driven by musical interplay, energy and pure expression.
