Erik Verwey Trio at Arti et Amicitiae
On Friday evening, June 5, Arti welcomes the Erik Verwey Trio as part of the Red Light Jazz Festival. An evening of sparkling piano jazz, lyricism, and rhythmic energy—with free admission.
Registration is required to attend the concert via the reservation link.
Fresh, dynamic, and distinctive
The Amsterdam-based trio, led by pianist and composer Erik Verwey, brings a fresh and dynamic sound in which traditional jazz is enriched with influences from classical music, film scores, and songs. Original compositions form the core of their repertoire.
From People Flow to international stages
Their debut album People Flow (2020) received strong international reviews and marked the beginning of a successful tour both in the Netherlands and abroad. This was followed by About A Home and Live Encounters (featuring Hermine Deurloo), which were also well received.
A powerful rhythm section
The rhythm section is exceptionally strong: drummer Daniel van Dalen (known from Fuse, the house band of Podium Klassiek) has been an essential force within the trio for years. Double bassist Hendrik Müller, also known from the Daahoud Salim Quartet, completes the trio with his warm and fluid bass sound.
Tight interplay, internationally recognized
The trio has performed at festivals such as the Bali Jazz Festival and has been touring internationally since 2021. At Arti, they bring their tight musical interplay to the heart of Amsterdam.
