Rico Parlevliet
On Saturday, June 6, Rico Parlevliet will perform old-school jazz at Café ’t Mandje (Bet van Beeren). Together with his friends, he will present a varied and lively program. At Café ’t Mandje, everyone is welcome to join in—whether by singing along or even performing.
In addition to jazz karaoke, there will be opportunities for live jazz performances in an open stage format.
Countertenor Rico Parlevliet—also known as “the Nightingale of Amsterdam”—regularly performs at museums as well as venues such as Club Dauphine, Café de Lellebel, Café Riviera, and Café ’t Mandje. He also sings at various street festivals, including those on the Zeedijk, at Nieuwmarkt, and at the Milkshake Festival.
Rico hosts and performs karaoke at Café ’t Mandje on the last Sunday of every month. His love for jazz began early in life, inspired by his uncle Peter, a great admirer of artists such as Louis Armstrong. Together, they sang old-school jazz every day, filling their surroundings with music.
