Music & dining at Contra
Inspired by jazz clubs like the Blue Note in New York and Ronnie Scott’s in London, Contra in Amsterdam offers a dinner concert where live music and haute cuisine come together.
The concert is central: it lasts about two hours and consists of 3–4 short sets with 15–20 minute breaks, designed for dining and socializing. During the sets, full attention is given to the music.
Concert experience
The breaks are for guests to enjoy each other’s company; during the sets, the focus is on listening and not disturbing the performance. Dinner concerts are concerts first. Staff may remind guests to be attentive to the musicians and fellow listeners.
Lingela: folklore meets modern jazz
Lingela is a folk/jazz quintet that blends traditional Lithuanian music with modern jazz. With two vocalists, trombone, and rhythm section, the band creates a dreamy, storytelling sound inspired by Lithuanian folklore.
Bandleader Kamilė Makarevičiūtė weaves her musical roots with contemporary influences. Together with international musicians, the group aims to keep traditions alive and bring people together, especially in challenging times.
