The line-up at TenClub on Friday, June 7, during the first day of Red Light Jazz 2024, consists of acclaimed trumpeter and singer Michael Varekamp and Harry Emmery on double bass.

Varekamp has been active for decades, not only as a trumpet player and singer but also as a composer, organizer, radio maker, theater producer and band leader. In the first half of the 1990s he was part of Fra Fra Sound, Fra Fra Big Band and Dutch Swing College Band, with which bands he traveled all over the world. He played with many internationally acclaimed jazz artists and at countless festivals. Emmery is best known in the jazz scene for his collaborations with Archie Shepp, Freddy Hubbard and Louis Hayes.

With TenClub favourites Bas van Lier on piano and Erik Kooger on drums, this joyful ensemble will surely bring light to this late spring evening. Don’t miss out!
