Red Light Jazz Returns to Amsterdam for Its 13th Edition

AMSTERDAM – From June 5 to 7, Red Light Jazz returns to the familiar setting of Amsterdam’s historic city center for its thirteenth edition. The festival takes place in and around the Red Light District, once again bringing together national and international jazz artists at unique venues.

Opening Concert and First Line-Up Announcements

On Friday afternoon, June 5, the festival will open at 2:00 PM with a free concert by saxophonist Hans Dulfer at the Casa Rosso Theater. Other first announced names include Zuco 103, Likeminds, Sabrina Starke, Hermine Deurloo & Anton Goudsmit, Samora Pinderhughes, Ella Zirina, and Nohmi.

Main Program and Festival Locations

The main program will take place at venues such as the Bimhuis, Olof’s, De Waalse Kerk, the TOBACCO Theater, and Casablanca. In addition, many free concerts will be held at neighborhood locations throughout the festival weekend.

Focus on Amsterdam Zuidoost

A special part of the program will highlight the vibrant jazz and music scene of Amsterdam Zuidoost. Performances will also take place in the Bijlmer area, once again creating a cultural connection between the bustling heart of the city and the Bijlmer, where an important part of Amsterdam’s jazz heritage is rooted.

Collaboration with Amsterdam City Archives

This edition, Red Light Jazz collaborates with the Amsterdam City Archives, where the exhibition Jazz Years: People, Migration and Music in Amsterdam, 1930–1939 will be on display from April 2 to September 13.

Festival Finale

New Cool Collective will close the festival on Sunday, June 7, following a festive dinner at Olof’s. With a playful nod to the neighborhood that inspired the festival’s name, dancers from the Bananenbar & Club will complete the show with a special pole dance performance.

Tickets and Program Release

Ticket sales for the main stage concerts start on Monday, March 30 via www.redlightjazz.com. The full program will be announced in April.
