Iman Spaargaren & Peter Bjørnild – where saxophone and bass meet
Saxophonist Iman Spaargaren and bassist Peter Bjørnild met through the Amsterdam music scene. After their first concert together, both musicians were so impressed by each other’s playing that a follow-up was inevitable.
In their often lyrical interactions, Iman and Peter complement each other beautifully. They challenge one another and inspire innovation. In Contra, the duo explores a wide range of well-known and lesser-known jazz standards, with musical freedom and intense interplay at the heart of their performance.
