Like the South-American tyranni bird that can both sing and scream, whistle and shriek, this “flock” creates wonderful soundscapes of noises and beauty. They don’t choose between electronic or acoustic, synths or woodwinds. Within this contrast is harmony, and within disparity is unity.

The Amsterdam-based Tyranni Flock consists of award-winning young musicians, playing fresh, lyrical and exciting new music. All five coming from different musical backgrounds, with the uncommon combination of EWI, vocoder and flutes, creating one fluid sound. Their debut EP was released in 2018 followed by numerous shows in the Netherlands. During this tour they reached the semi-finals of the Dutch Jazz Competition 2018. In the early summer of 2019 the first single will be released in preparation of EP number 2 in the fall.

“Strong compositions, innovative and tight, beautiful ensemble-playing and interesting soloists (…) Live a true experience.”
Co de Kloet (Jazzism/NPO Soul & Jazz)

“With a fusion sound, referring to the jazzrock of the 70’s, that fits today’s time. Hip, groovy, nerdy and very danceable. Genre borders do not apply, neither do cliches.”
Matthilde Löffler (JazzHalo)
