NOA LAURYN (support Ramón Valle Quintet)

Undeniable groove and strong vocals are at the core of Noa Lauryn’s music. Combined with stacks of harmonies and warm keys her songs convey a unique future soul sound. The result reaches from slow RnB to catchy funk with a feel good vibe and an attitude.

Born and raised in Amsterdam, Noa grew up as a musicians daughter. Soul and jazz were part of her upbringing and the family car never lacked D’Angelo, Earth, Wind and Fire and Marvin Gaye CD’s. Dad took her along to his gigs and mom taught her how to sing and harmonize. Noa would inevitably find her own way to the stage.

2019 Lauryn formed a band and performed at Cinetol Amsterdam, Jazzcafé Dizzy Rotterdam, Stathe Utrecht, Red Light Jazz Festival and more. In 2020 her debut EP, Colin Street, came out, joined by a music video for single No Hurries. Both received praising reviews by 3voor12, NPO 2 and Dansende Beren.

Currently, Lauryn is working on her debut album, expected to come out in the spring of 2022. This album will showcase a strong combination of old school soul, jazz and hip hop and new school electronic RnB. Together with multi-instrumentalist Pat Stewart, Noa will already be performing some of these on Friday evening 3 September in the TOBACCO Theater.
