Solo fireworks between jazz and classical, by Spanish miracle pianist.

Pianist Marco Mezquida has what it takes to make the BIMHUIS erupt during the festival Red Light Jazz. In his home country Spain he is being honored for his dazzling solo performances. According to the popular newspaper El Mundo there’s a breathtaking amount of music flowing through his veins, and he has mastered every possible piano school, from baroque to avant-garde. Mezquida has shared the stage with jazz luminaries such as Lee Konitz and Bill McHenry.

Marco Mezquida will perform at the Bimhuis during the 8th edition of the Red Light Jazz festival. Red Light Jazz originated in the renowned Red Light District of Amsterdam. Since 2014 it has been organizing an increasing amount of gigs in locations all over the old city center. This edition of Red Light Jazz, which was postponed in 2020 due to COVID-19, was made possible through financial support of SENA and AFK.
